Lusaka (ZAMBIA) 24/05/2018 :: SOLEMNITY OF MARY HELP OF CHRISTIANS

24th of May is the traditional Solemn Feast for the Salesian Family a legacy promoted and left by St. John Bosco. For the Salesians in Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi and Namibia it is the Feast of the Province dedicated to Mary Help Christians. The day was befittingly observed at the Provincial House in Lusaka.

A concelebrated Eucharistic Celebration was held at 11.00 AM at the Provincial House Chapel, where the Salesian Co-operators renewed their promises. After the Holy Eucharist, all were invited for lunch at the Salesian Garden and served with a sumptuous meal.

Similar Celebrations were also reported from other Salesian Communities. Don Bosco Chingola Commemorated 25 years of Salesian presence with a grand celebration where the Salesian Bishop Rt. Rev. Clement Mulenga was the Guest of Honour. Many priests and past pupils of the institution were present.

In Bauleni Parish, the Salesians organise a whole day prayer programme honouring Mary with 1000 ‘Hail Mary’ that is 5 times 4 mysteries of the Rosary. Throng of people also gathered at Don Bosco in Lilongwe, Mansa and other centre to celebrate the festive day.
